Acting on behalf of specialist bank and asset manager Investec, Skyworld Aviation is delighted to announce the sale of an ex-Kingfisher Airlines ATR 72-500 to South Pacific operator Air Calédonie. Serial number 759, now registered as F-ONCL, was delivered in Singapore last week after completing an extensive maintenance and refurbishment programme at Fokker Services facility there. It will depart for New Caledonia later this week.
Air Calédonie, the domestic carrier of New Caledonia, , is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2014, with this latest addition taking the fleet to a total of four ATRs, comprised of three 72-500s and one 42-500. ‘Air Cal’ is majority owned by the New Caledonia Government and services a network of eight destinations in New Caledonia hubbing out of the downtown Noumea Magenta airport. Peter Greensmith, Director at Skyworld Aviation, says “we have worked closely with Investec to reintroduce the Kingfisher aircraft into service and have been delighted to welcome Air Calédonie as a new customer.”
