Skyworld Aviation is pleased to have arranged a long term ACMI agreement between Danish Air Transport (DAT) of Denmark and Sunrise Airways of Haiti. The aircraft, an ATR 42-320 (serial number 112), is due to start operations in early March and the contract will continue into late 2017. Sunrise Airways currently operates a fleet of three 19 seat Jetstream 32 aircraft, serving Porte au Prince, Cap Haitien, Santo Domingo and Santiago de Cuba.
Sunrise Airways has been in operation since 2009. The operator was the first Haitian airline to be awarded a Part 129 Operating Permit and has been providing scheduled services since 2013. The introduction of the ATR equipment will allow Sunrise to serve longer haul routes more effectively in its Western Caribbean route network, in particular points throughout Cuba where the carrier's current scheduled service to Santiago de Cuba and Camaguey presages Sunrise designs on becoming the largest international carrier to Cuba.
